Lue Svendson • Svendson Studios
“Lue captures the beauty of the Louisiana marsh. Buying one of her paintings is an investment in the alluring southern charm: draping oaks and a sunrise over the Basin in a rich pallet of hues. Her talent is unsurpassed in the paintings and memories she creates for us to forever remember when we hang a piece of Louisiana on our walls.” -Nancy S. in Austin, Texas
Lue Svendson is excited to be in Lafayette representing her work.
Louisiana native Lue Svendson is a painter, and in addition to her Artwork, she also is a Landscape Architect. Her parents drove her in this direction and artistic heritage. Eventually, she moved toward her professional choice. Thus, combining her love of art and nature to become a Painter and Landscape Architect.
However, the primary inspiration for my work is the challenge to recreate the beauty of the natural landscape on canvas! Instinctively for me, that is a technical challenge as well as artistic. Therefore by a mixture of oil and wax on black Canvas to create a dynamic that is exciting as well as peaceful. Thus is my version of minimalism concentrating on edges. The edges of the sky and the land and the buildings and the trees create the whole. In fact, it is about shape and color and how it is all put together to give the viewer the feeling of what I see and feel.

“Svendson’s art cannot be separated from time and place where it is firmly rooted. In a way that is rarely as successful. Her paintings are transportive for the viewer. With an adept use of color and texture as essential parts of her toolbox, a magical trip is gifted from artist to viewer.” -Jeffery McCullough New York City, New York.
